Information is not enough. Why weather forecasts might not be useful or accessible for African farmers
CGD member Lata Narayanaswamy has been part of a team looking at how (whether) women farmers in Kenya access weather forecasts and climate information. The value of such data for individual farmers is frequently overstated. This research clearly demonstrates the limited value of this data in the absence of wider contextual understandings of agricultural livelihoods.
