New blog post by Dr Jörg Wiegratz

Date

Co-authored by CGD member Dr Jörg Wiegratz, along with Leo Zeilig, the piece sets out to problematise the headlines of UK newspapers' reviews of a book about the politics of the government of Rwanda, the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), and President Paul Kagame.

The language of colonialism has remained a determined and fixed feature of mainstream accounts of Africa. The racist imagery of Africa remains unchanged and essentially monstrous.

The piece is published in The Elephant, a platform founded on Pan-Africanist principles, which aims to engage citizens to reflect, re-member and re-envision their society by interrogating the past, the present, to fashion a future.
