Online Book Launch - Pharmaceutical Knowledge Commons for the Most Neglected Populations in Global Health

This book launch will discuss the first book and in-depth study published on the role of the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) in the global politics of neglected tropical diseases. The book will be discussed by a panel comprising the author, Dr Markus Fraundorfer, Associate Professor of Global Governance at the University of Leeds, and four distinguished academic and professional experts on global health politics, global justice, neglected tropical diseases, and DNDi.

The panellists include:

• Dr Els Torreele, Researcher, Advisor and Advocate promoting Health Equity and Economic Justice for Health; Founding Member of DNDi (2003-2009) and Executive Director of Médecins Sans Frontières's Campaign for Access to Essential Medicines between 2017 and 2020.
• Dr Mady Barbeitas, Researcher at the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Sciences Innovations Sociétés (LISIS), French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and Visiting Researcher at the Institute for Science in Society, Radboud University; Technical Coordinator of DNDi's leishmaniasis network in Latin America (redeLEISH) between 2015 and 2019.
• Eric Stobbaerts, International Development Director of DNDi between 2016 and 2025; Director of DNDi Latin America between 2010 and 2016.
• Prof Simon Rushton, Professor in International Politics at the University of Sheffield, with a specific research focus on the changing architecture of global health governance.

The panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A session.
