Schools Bursaries announced

We are pleased to announce a number of fees only Summer School bursaries available from individual Schools at the University of Leeds - deadline extended to May 22nd

The bursary will pay the full course fee for this year’s Global Development Summer School being run in cooperation with EADI at the University of Leeds from June 6th to June 10th. This year’s Summer School theme is ‘Exploring challenges and opportunities to achieving ‘Just Practices of Development’ in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals’. It is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in learning more about issues such as poverty and urban growth, climate change, food and health from multidisciplinary perspectives.

POLIS - the bursary is offered on a competitive basis to UK/EU or International students who have accepted an offer on any of the MA programmes in POLIS at the University of Leeds for 2016 entry. Click here to be taken to the POLIS page

School of Earth and Environment - the bursary is offered on a competitive basis to UK/EU or International students who have accepted an offer on the MSc Environment and Development or MSc Climate Change and Environmental Policy courses at the University of Leeds for 2016 entry.

School of Geography - the bursary is offered on a competitive basis to UK/EU or International students who have accepted an offer on the MA Global Urban Justice programme at the University of Leeds for 2016 entry

LUBS - the bursary is offered on a competitive basis to UK/EU students on the final year of LUBS 3330 Economic Development parented by LUBS and students on the MSc Economics programme in LUBS

School of Media and Communication - the bursary is offered on a competitive basis both to current and incoming MA students in the school (incoming MA students who wish to apply must have paid their deposit).

School of Civil Engineering – the bursary is offered on a competitive basis to UK/EU or International students who are entering their fourth year of undergraduate study or who have been accepted on the MSc Water, Sanitation and Health Engineering or MSc Environmental Engineering and Project Management courses at the University of Leeds for 2016 entry.

Application information:

The bursaries are fees only bursaries, offered on a competitive basis to UK/EU or International students who meet the individual school's criteria. Travel to Leeds and accommodation not included.

To apply please send a CV and statement of motivation (max 500 words) which should include the name of the school bursary you wish to apply for and outline:

–  Your interest in global development issues and motivation to attend summer school; what do you hope to get from the experience?

– Your existing experience of global development, including any courses, volunteering, travel or relevant reading

– Your future plans and how attendance at the CGD summer school will help you fulfill your ambitions
