International Health and Development

healthInternational health and development is a key research area of the Centre for Global Development. Evidence based health policies and appropriate health interventions to the needs of specific communities, are identified by the World Health Organisation as key components to promoting, maintaining and sustaining the health status of populations.

For many low and middle income countries where development is partly dependent on a healthy population, research has a specific role. That is, research in international health can contribute towards the formulation and implementation of healthy public policies and public health interventions.

The Nuffield Centre for International Health and Development in particular undertakes research on different health-related topics, organised around four themes: health systems; communicable diseases; non-communicable diseases; and reproductive health.   For more information visit the Nuffield Centre for International Health and Development.
