Abstract summary: The traditional view of poverty as income shortfall is rapidly giving way to a more nuanced view of poverty as simultaneous deprivations across multiple dimensions. How can poverty be evaluated in practice when there are several dimensions? This book is the first comprehensive guide to multidimensional poverty measurement that is aimed at both academics and policymakers.
